8 hours and 37 minutes. That’s how long it took Larsen Ojala and Travis Muhonen to complete the New Hampshire’s 34-mile Skyline Traverse on Saturday, August 27, 2022.
The duo beat the previous record set by Peter Ward in July, at 9 hours 13 minutes. Jason Emery and Tyler Seppala ran with Ojala and Muhonen for support, beginning on the tripyramids.
Typically done as an overnight backpacking route, the Skyline Loop around Waterville Valley is one of the White Mountain’s newest long routes, crossing the summits of five New Hampshire 4,000-footers and racking up nearly 10,000 feet of elevation gain,
