This past winter’s EMS x West Kill Mountain Life launch was our first foray into beer collaboration, and suffice to say, we’ve tapped into an awesome partnership with West Kill Brewing and the Catskill Center. So we’re releasing a summer edition!
This time, we’re not only kicking off the new collaboration but also Hike for the Catskills, a month-long fundraiser hosted by the Catskill Center inviting hikers of all levels to set their own goals and participate in hiking events throughout the month as an opportunity “to explore the natural beauty of the Catskills while helping to protect critical Catskills habitats, keep our land and waters wild, and advocate for our communities and the Catskill Park.” Join us for the launch event on Saturday, August 13th at West Kill Brewing and get your hands on the exclusive new Mountain Life, summer style!

Hike for the Catskills will run from August 13th to September 10th, and representatives will be at the launch event to assist with registration and discuss the Catskill Center’s mission of protecting more than 700,000 acres of the Catskill Park and Catskill Forest Preserve. There will also be two guided hikes to Hunter Mountain and Diamond Notch Falls taking place before the event so that fundraisers can get a jumpstart on their hiking goals. To learn more about the fundraiser, visit https://catskillcenter.org/hikeforthecatskills, where you’ll also find area hikes (organized by difficulty) to help get you started, and tips for starting your campaign. If you’re looking for other nearby adventures that weekend, you won’t have to look far; the Devil’s Path Trail is around the corner, plus there are underrated Catskill 3500 peaks aplenty to check out (and two 4000-footers). Help the Catskill Center reach their $15,000 fundraising goal by registering here. All registrants during the event will qualify to win some EMS gear— Just show your confirmation on Saturday and get a raffle ticket (we’ll also be giving out free swag and taste tasting, of course)!

West Kill Brewing, located on a 127 acre historic dairy farm in the heart of the Catskills, focuses on locally grown and foraged ingredients. The collaboration brew will aim to celebrate their deep commitment to the area— “to its mountains, to its people, to its heritage, to its future”— with a portion of the proceeds going to the Catskill Center’s fundraiser. The collaboration brew will be available at the event with limited batches being available for purchase both at the brewery and designated NYC-area distributors (and keep an eye out for the awesome can art reveal).
