This Earth Day, celebrate both the environment and EMS with these limited edition EMS x TerraCycle Upcycled Dopp Kits. The Process

“When we were deciding what would be upcycled, we wanted to focus on existing end-of-life materials,” says Taylor. “It became apparent that past advertising signs and banners are never in short supply and also offer a decent yield—so we began collecting. After collaborating with the TerraCycle team on what product would be the best fit, we decided on a dopp kit for its simplicity, durability, and price point. Plus, it’s a must-have travel companion that also makes a great gift. We were amazed that a few 22×10′ and 16×9′ banners were able to make 360 products, which furthers the argument that a little goes a long way with recycling. A key part of production also is the manufacturer nesting the pattern pieces to minimize waste as much as possible. Additionally, every detail counts, right down to the zipper tags made from upcycled bike tubes.”
