Our favorite summer fundraiser just got even better. With hiking, biking, climbing, fishing, running, and yoga on the itinerary, the 21st annual Seek the Peak is going to be kind of awesome. A change-up from previous formats, the adventure weekend will feature a range of guided and group activities for fundraising participants as well as an Expo on Saturday, 7/16 with vendors, prizes, gear demos, food trucks, live music, and plenty more— all in keeping with current safety protocols. As the official outfitter of the Mount Washington Observatory and sponsor of the event, the EMS team is pumped to see everyone enjoying all the White Mountain region has to offer while supporting an awesome cause. If you’re looking for more info on the event, look no further.

First things first: You’ve got to fundraise! When you raise the $200 minimum, you’re automatically in the event and also get an exclusive Cotopaxi x EMS Seek the Peak pack (pictured below/while supplies last). When you hit certain fundraising goals you qualify for the weekend’s guided activities, ranging from climbing with EMS Guides to fly fishing with North Country Anglers. Find the schedule here. (Note: You have to register for these outings ahead of time: Email [email protected] to reserve your chosen adventure).  Other activities include Mountain Biking the scenic Pondicherry Loop, a trail race with the White Mountain Milers, wildlife paddling, and a morning yoga flow (plus plenty of hiking). Find the full guidebook here.

Seek the Peak’s mission is “to cultivate and sustain connection to and stewardship of the nonprofit Mountain Washington Observatory and White Mountains Region. These goals will be achieved by utilizing our natural spaces in a responsible manner in order to create a wide-range of adventures on our trails, cliffs, and waterways. By leveraging our community’s passion for discovery and exploration we will simultaneously build capacity in support of the critical mission of the observatory.” Krissy Fraser, Director of Marketing and Communications at the Mount Washington Observatory and organizer of the event, talks more details here. Not a Seek the Peak registrant/fundraiser? No worries—you can still join Saturday’s Expo with $10 General Admission.

Running from 12 to 7pm on Saturday, July 17th, Vendor Village will feature brands including Petzl, Hyperlite Mountain Gear, Big Agnes, Cotopaxi, (EMS), and more, as well as area nonprofit partners like the White Mountain Trail Collective, Access Fund, and Granite Outdoor Alliance. Blankets and chairs are recommended, so you can chill between gear-talking and prize-winning and enjoy some live music and food/bevs. Any questions? Email [email protected].

See you at Base Camp!
