Last month, our awesome South Portland team gave a sneak peek of new arrivals with their unboxing video. Now, as summer gets in full swing, the web team is busy adding new pieces to the lineup on ems.com—from an exclusive EMS Camelbak Rogue to a SUP Pup Graphic Tee, you’ll find something fun for your kit this season. Plus, these styles all give back as part of our 1% For the Planet pledgeBelow, EMS Web Merchandising Manager Lindsey Byerly highlights her favorite finds by activity to help you find your new favorite gear to get outdoors in.

Hike

EMS Cargo EcoFlex Series

This new addition inspired by our best-selling technical pants features an updated recycled nylon blended fabric offering four-way stretch, abrasion resistance, and C6 DWR (80/10) rating. Both the shorts and the zip-off pants have a built-in belt and back waistband with plenty of cargo pockets. You can feel the updated flexibility with the EcoFlex without sacrificing durability, and I’m loving the light blue and moss color options for the shorts.

EMS Journey Hiking Boots & Shoes

Not necessarily a new summer arrival, but worth noting for the outdoor enthusiast looking to get into hiking. Price point and comfort are the factors to consider here, and at the current price range of $75-$80, you can’t go wrong. The Low and Mid options feature a Weathertite membrane and Vibram XS outsole built for traction and stability on gnarly terrain, and both styles of these no-frill boots are built to last long into your hiking hobby.

EMS x Cotopaxi ADK Teca Half-Zip Windbreaker

This Limited Edition collaboration was relaunched this spring due to its short-lived debut last year. Its classic Cotopaxi styling with recycled taffeta featuring the EMS colorway and Adirondack High Peaks overlay is a perfect way to say #goEast and give back to the Adirondack Mountain Club. We won’t see this windbreaker again, so get it while you still can! (We also have added a lot more Cotopaxi options online including rain jackets, expanded apparel options, and this sweet tech bucket hat.)

Paddle

EMS Lined Swim Shorts

These are my new favorite paddle shorts to keep me comfortable and dry out on the water. The lined option is new for the women’s style, and like the Hull, Harbor, and Fin bottoms, the material provides UPF 30+ protection. Made with moisture-wicking, quick-drying, anti-odor properties, these are great in and out of the water—throw them in your bag and you’re prepared for any fun summer activity.

EMS Active Hoodie

This is a top-selling technical top because of its versatility—you can take this from the sunny crag to shore, and while seemingly simple, it keeps you covered in the important ways with UPF 50+ protection and wicking fabric. The hood offers even more protection and the lightweight feel of the material means you can stay epically active all day.

The color and logo were designed just for this limited edition pack, so rep EMS with this Rogue on your next adventure.

Climb

EMS Meridian Collection

Look no further than the Meridian collection for long days of adventure. The shorts are my favorite for summer activities beyond the crag because of their durable fabric yet lightweight feel. There’s a loop on the back left waistband to clip your take-alongs, and the UPF 30+ in all of these styles means you’re covered from dawn to dusk. The Pull-On Ankle Pants also seem to be a favorite among climbing customers.

Fitness

EMS Sat Nam Series

New styles, new prints, and new men’s options. The Sat Nam line is one of our largest collections, with everything from skorts to joggers to crops, and despite being categorized with yoga, it is also one of our most versatile. The fabric group is perfect for any fitness pursuit and transitions well from one activity to the next, and is also built for layering. Mix and match with the complimentary colorblock/print combinations and say goodbye to digging through drawers before hitting the gym. For me, the dress is a go-to for summer—with built-in bike shorts and bra, there really isn’t any activity I can’t do in this. It’s the perfect throw-on-one-thing item that’ll have you covered for any adventure. We’re also really loving the Support Crop, a tank that can either be a great underlayer or a comfy top when you’re transitioning from workout to streetwear.

EMS Essence & Essentials

We can’t talk about warm weather layering without mentioning Techwick, a foundational and breathable baselayer for all types of high-output outdoor endeavors. The Essence and Essentials are mainstays in the EMS collection because of the fabric’s moisture-wicking and quick-drying properties paired with 30+ UPF protection. The Hoodie is new to the lineup as well as the Essence Peak Boxy Short Sleeve and Cropped Tank.

Camp

EMS Anomaly Ultralight 30-Degree Backpacking Quilt

Recently named in Outside Magazine’s Summer 2023 Gear Guide, this lightweight technical quilt is an affordable option in the ultralight sleeping bag game. Backpacking, car camping, hammock crashing, whatever the case—it takes up very little room (a Nalgene’s worth), can strap to your sleeping pad, and weighs a feather (our team touts it as the perfect bikepacking companion). If you’re not looking for lightweight, EMS Camp Blankets are another great option.

CamelBak x EMS 16 oz Stainless Steel Tumbler

Another limited edition CamelBak product new summer arrival! This stainless steel tumbler keeps your beverages hot or cold for hours with double-wall vacuum-insulated stainless steel. The lid features tri-mode flow control to prevent spills, and the tapered design allows for a comfortable grip along with a non-slip silicone pad on the base to help grip surfaces. And yes, this fits into just about every cup holder.

EMS Recycled Cutlery Set

This Recycled Cutlery Set is an uber-convenient way to ensure you always have utensils handy. Stow it in your car or pack to keep you covered on the go, and know that you’re using an eco-friendly alternative to single-use plastic. Includes fork, knife, spoon, straw, and carrying case.

Allegro Joggers

These joggers are a go-to for travel. Perfect for campsite hangs and plane rides, they’re lightweight with the perfect amount of stretch and feature Techwick material to control moisture. They’re a returning staple to the EMS collection, but the awesome and earthy Sea Pine color option is new and worth noting. If you’re looking for a comparable men’s option, check out the Elemental Active Pants.

EMS Graphic Tees

There’s no better way to take EMS with you than with one of our unique, 100% cotton graphic tees. We are loving the new summer designs—from a dog paddle boarding to last year’s winning tee contest design, you’ll find something fun to add to your tee collection that shouts #goEast.

EMS Excursion Active Softshell Jackets

This softshell is a great spring/summer travel companion. It’s lightweight, water repellant, wind resistant, and packs into itself via the lower hand pocket. The fabric is a blend of recycled polyester and spandex featuring a four-way stretch and it also offers UPF 50+ sun protection to handle whatever shoulder season weather throws your way. Available in men’s and women’s in two colors each starting at $119.99.
